Being the mom of young children we get to celebrate lots of birthdays… our own, our friends… LOTS. So, I thought this little birthday monster would be the perfect way to celebrate!
I LOVE HIM. He just makes me happy with his one eye an goofy smile. I made him from the Playful Pals stamp set. Se his arms and legs? Elephant trunk. And it’s a perfect way to use washi. Here I matched it with some washi I had… but you could totally use any color just to add pop. The banners at the top are (sad to say) retired…but they’re a favorite of mine too…
Here’s the inside:
I love this card for the young ones. It’s been perfect for birthday celebrations. And, I’ve even used it for those who are young at heart!! 🙂
AND… DRUMROLL…. I know you’ve been waiting all year with anticipation, but we are less than TWO WEEKS AWAY from the most awaited event of the year!! THE MAUI STAMPERS’ AND FRIENDS CRAFT FAIR!! It’s nearly here!! NOV 19! Mark your calendar and be sure to come!
Stay tuned! I will be featuring items that will be available this year! (FYI: Thhis monster card will be there!!!)
So… When we returned from convention, mauistamper organized a stamp a stack for our downlines to play with new convention sets and talk about convention… and all exciting new stuffs. This was one of the cards we made:
It utilizes the Gorgeous Grunge (which I LOVE) and a simple tag. Could make this ANY kind of card by changing the tag. So easy.
And, of course, I needed an idea of something for club to do, so I changed it a little and made this:
Exact same thing. Changed colors, added a candle made from the “Tape-it” stamp set (the candle idea was cased from Stampin Success). Used the bird wing from the bird punch to make the flame. Simple!!
I get a lot of requests for manly cards. And I’m always at a loss for what exactly that means, I think this could qualify. Could change the color to green or a darker blue. Or black or gray… would be more manly..
And, speaking of birthdays…. I kinda forgot about mine. Not my ACTUAL birthday…but my Stampin’ Up! birthday. I received this in the mail:
Very exciting. I knew it was coming, but it just kind of slipped my mind… what a nice surprise. And, who can believe it’s been that long!!??!!
So. Here is another example of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Stamp Set: Tag it. And it came straight from the pages of Stamp in’ Success. This is the glorious little piece of mail that graces my mailbox every couple of months. That reason alone is reason to sign up. Anyway, its a simple card. I added the use of washi tape. Cause I’m in love with washi. Anyway… here it is…
I changed some of the colors and stamped the image in a single color just to make it easier. But, I added some dazzling details on the balloons just for dimension.
And a little touch of the chevron ribbon…. LOVE THE RIBBON… just stapled on… so easy..
A fun, fast, easy card. And that 3×6 size card is one if my favorites. It is different from a normal card but doesn’t require extra postage like a square card does. And now with our new envelope punch board…. you are gonna have to stay tuned. I’ve got lots to show you with that…
So!! It’s been a while…
School’s OUT!! And, it’s glorious. And, as soon as school was out, I was busy working on the cards for the 2-5-10 class that we held AFTER the first ever Maui Stamper’s Open House (Which was a HUGE success, so you will have to look for it next year).
Anne and I design classes together. Cause why do all the work when you can split it. And, she’s hilarious. So, it works. And, I wanted to share the cards I designed for this class. They all feature new stamps and colors!!
This card features the new Baked Brown Sugar (color for card base) and the new stamp set, Label Love (with coordinating punch!!). It’s a super easy and fast card and you could make the same card with all the different label stamps included in the set… this would give you a great set of cards to package together as a gift for someone!!
I used the Designer Series Paper from the “This and That” bundle (the paper is also sold by it’self and is called Epic Day This and That). And, the Modern Label punch just to add a layer. The honey come TEIF (a FAVORITE) and scallop border punch add finishing touches.
SUPER EASY!! And, that Baked Brown Sugar ink and paper is glorious. It’s lighter than Soft Suede ( could be it’s monochromatic cousin) but darker than crumb cake. It will work in LOTS of places.
Anyway, stay tuned to see more soon!!
