Sweetest little patterns

Standard

February. We are in the swing of the new year and beginning to look to spring coming soon. And Valentine’s Day is the start of the cuteness of spring. For this month, I used a non-traditional set to make this sweet scene.

Playful patterns is a fantastic set to have in your collection. It is a great set for subtle backgrounds and easy repetitive designs. I used flamingo and smoke slate to make the images. Super easy to do!

Who else has pattern play? I wanna see what you use it on! Post a pic and tag me! @hanniejoyandco on Instagram so I can see! Hope you have a special month with those love. And since we can’t BE with all our loved ones this year, make a special valentine and pop it in the mail. This is my challenge to you. Brighten someone’s day! LONG LIVE SNAIL MAIL!

You Otter be my Valentine!

Standard

When I saw this otter I just KNEW he had to be my Valentinefor this month! This set is from the 2019 Occasions catalog (so it’s now retired) called Hey Love.

And, Flirty Flamingo was, in my opinion, a great pink to use here because it’s vibrant and fresh. Not TOO pinky and not to pale.

I hope you can spend this Valentine’s with those you love!

I still have a small handfull of the 2020 Easel calendars left! If you’re interested in having one of your very own, message me and I can work out payment and shipping details with you.

Also, Hannie Joy and Co is on Instagram! Come follow us overthere too!!

Happy Hearts!

Standard

I hope 2019 finds you with happy hearts! This 2018 Occasions stamp set, Heart Happiness (now retired) made my heart smile. I liked it cause it has an array of nice and not-to-fancy hearts. Perfect for many occasions.

I used it to make this month’s calendar along with blushing bride and berry burst inks and papers. It’s such a simple layout and design and can easily be transcribed to a clean and simple card front… Perfect for that friend or significant other…for whomever’s heart you’d like to make happy!

Oh! I had a fun little idea to share for you DIYers out there… This comes follower, Roberta. Instead of gifting the entire calendar at once, she sends her friends the next calendar page one month at a time with a little note! This most DEFINITELY makes my heart happy.

Head over and check out what Anne and Cheryl have done!

Monster Love

Monster Love

February is always a fun month for me… a return to a normal routine after the holidays and the anticipation of the summer (as a school teacher, February always is an encouragement…that I may actually survive until the end of the school year).  And, I’ve always enjoyed Valentines from a crafting standpoint.  There’s no pressure around the holiday like Christmas brings, and it’s opportunity to do something cute, simple and fun!

This February is no exception.  The 2017 Occasions catalog had this stamp set, Yummy in my Tummy and the minute I saw it I KNEW this lovable beast needed to be in my calendar.  (Sorry, the set is now retired… I know, so sad)

Such a super simple, easy image.  And you can color, or no need…  And, he’s just a little friendly smile to see as you change the months on the calendar.

Hope you enjoy your February!  Head on over to see what Anne and Cheryl have for you today!

Happy February!  As we turn the page to this month, love is in the air!!  I love these little lady bugs.  So cute.  Reminds me of those I love in my own life…

This month is so simple, but cute.  And, it was super fast to make…  The stamp set is Love You Lots (obviously….) and did a quick marker color and that is that!  This would also make a cute little 3×3 card too for your valentine!

A Nice Cuppa

Standard

Hello!!

Here’s a little treat bag for your crafting pleasure.  I made this last month in my Stamp Clubs.  Wanted something to celebrate the Valentine holiday, but not too ‘in your face’.  I wanted it to be able to be used any time.

image

I love the little kraft treat bags from Stampin’ Up!  You can get a pack of 10 for $3.50!  It’s a steal!  And, I made up a handful to have on hand…just so they were available when I needed to give a little gift … or treat…

image

The ‘A Nice Cuppa’ stamp set was a lot of fun to play with.  I love tea cups.  I wish I enjoyed hot tea more.  Well, I do enjoy it.  When it is cold out.  Its just that I am rarely cold enough to feel the need to drink hot tea…  anyway…

image

The framelits make cutting the cup and the tag and the steam out VERY easy.  And, a little glimmer paper for the heart…  I used Wink of Stella to add the accent to the  cup and to the steam.  (HAVE YOU TRIED STELLA YET????  You NEED TO.)

Anwyay, super fun, super fast.  EASY!!

A Little V-Day Decor

Standard
A Little V-Day Decor

I realized Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but I want to share a little of the decor I made for the house.  Actually, I made 13 of these…  sent to family on the mainland for Valentine’s!!  What a wonderful piece of HAPPY mail!

image

Even though I made it pink and hearts, I really tried to keep it from being TOO Valentine-y just cause I wanted people to be able to leave it up past the holiday.  Just cause it is very cheery…

image

Love the Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  It’s fabulous.  I actually thought it would be too pink for my liking, but when it came, I was wonderfully surprised.  It seems to go well with everything.

image

I cut the banners out on the big shot… cut out the dsp and photos alike.  The big shot makes the easiest banners… (and many other things.)

image

Our little heart punch lines up very well with the Hearts TIEF… The glimmer cut outs glued in real well..  (oops, looks like one of my hearts is a little crooked…)

I had a very hard time getting pictures without glare…

image

One of my favorite card sites (for making digital cards) is Pear Tree Greetings.  I saw the idea of sending a Valentine’s Banner on their site.  But, it was about $3 EACH.  To order!  And, I figure, with this banner, I spent less than a dollar!  And, it came together in minutes!  You could modify for any occasion!

image

Ok.  Homework:  Go make some spring banners.  And send me some pics!!  I wanna see.  They are so much fun!!

Beeeeee mine

I love this little bee!!  It has such a cheery smile… so it was a MUST for this February Post.

The stamps are from the Honeycomb Hello stamp set.  The little polka dot  hexagon background adds the perfect amount of texture and color to the page…  And, of course, you cannot forget the bling in the heart punch-out…

You have less than 24 hours….

Valentine’s is coming. And if you are like me, it’s one of those holidays that just kind of sneaks up on you (confession: they all sneak up on me). But I’m trying to do my due diligence and send out fair warning. VALENTINE’S IS TOMORROW. Ladies. Feel free to forward this to your husbands as well. Valentine’s. Day. Tomorrow.

Anyway, I enjoy this holiday cause it’s not as stressful as Christmas. And its a fun holiday cause chocolate is generally the food of choice when celebrating it. Which is fine by me.

So, in prepararion, Isaac needed some treats for his classmates. And so we made some.

Okay. Lots.

20150210_192419

Isaac was my sprinkle-putter-on-er.  Yes. That is the official title.  These are those wafer cookies, strawberry flavored, of course. Dipped in almond bark. And heart sprinkled. And when I ran out of cookies, we switched to grahams. Both of which are delicious when covered in sugar and then more sugar.

And here is what they look like all packaged up:

Its hard to see the candy. But they’re in a fry box and the tag is made with the super cute cheerful critters stamp set.  Blendabilities makes coloring this super easy…

And here are some more fast, easy valentines that you can get together before tomorrow:

And

20150212_061917

Both are from the You Plus Me Stamp set.

If making them isn’t an option at this point, and you live on Maui… Then head over to Perfection Bra Fitting. In Wailuku… On Central.  See Terri.  She has some of my hand made valentines in her store. And all you will have to do is sign the insides. Super easy. And if you are interested in her services (her incredible brafitting services) let me know. I have a coupon for you to get $5 off your purchase (for first time customers). Fittings are free. And she is amazing.

So. Happy Valentine’s Day to you.

I know pink and hearts are a little cliche for Valentine’s but I couldn’t resist.  I love this little rain cloud.  It’s so sweet…

I used a hostess stamp set from the 2014-14 Idea Book and Catalog called Hello Love.  It’s a fun little set.  Has lots of various images to do different things.  Spoiler Alert:  You will see this set again in the calendar series…  🙂
