Hello!!  I have a special treat to share with you today.  Sandra Villoria is one of our vendors at the Maui Stampers’ Craft Fair.  She does FABULOUS bead work.  And, she shared some samples:

Look at those amazing pie servers.  Can you imagine serving your pumpkin pie with one of those??  It definitely adds to the festivity of the gathering.  And, a confession:  I bought one of these as a gift for someone…. and kept it.  (Don’t tell, ok???)  And, the key hooks are another amazing little doo-dad that makes life just so much easier:  It hangs on the side of your purse/bag so you always, ALWAYS can find your keys.  This would have saved my life a million times.  Well, perhaps not my life, but time.  Lots and lots of time…

And, she has some beautiful pens:

JOY

Standard

It’s still Tuesday in Hawaii so I am not late  in my daily post…  I wanted to share what I think was my most favorite project this crafting season…

image

This was so much fun. I think because I got to use chalk paint. And wax. And aging wax. And a buffer that attaches to a drill.   I have it in red also:

image

I can’t decide which one I like better…

They are on very sturdy round pieces of wood and have a picture hanger on back, if needed.  And, I only made 4… So… Hurry!!

And here is another fun little sewing project… Now,  there is something to understand about my sewing… I look for simple things with straight seams. And this qualifies. And it is super useful:

CORD KEEPERS!  And they are reversible! And wonderful to have around… For all the device cords. And they even work to bind several cords together-like behind the computer table…

Stop by Saturday to pick up these and other fabulous gifts!

And here are all the details about the event.  There will be multiple crafters, so come check it out!!

Happy Birthday Nana!!

Standard

Today is my Grandma Kitty’s 80th birthday.  80.  WOW.  That is an accomplishment.  I needed a VERY special birthday card to celebrate this momentous occasion. So, I decided it is time to tackle the CARD IN A BOX!!  image

Isn’t it exciting???!!!  You open up the envelope and out BURSTS a bouquet!!!!  A perfect way to send a long-distance Birthday!

image

image

The truth must be told about this card…  I went to a class that mauistamper and createswithcheryl had in late March of 2014.  (Yes, that is TWENTY FOURTEEN.  14.  as in a YEAR AND A HALF AGO).  Of course, I didn’t get my stuff made (I didn’t lead the class cause I was huge pregnant with the littles and didn’t wanna risk not being there… so I was a helper… ) but knew I wanted to make this card for my grandma.  As a mother’s day card.  Well.  You can see how that went down.  Littles came less than a week later and the parts and pieces have been on my stamp counter since.  Maybe it was divine intervention cause I got to use it for today. 🙂  All things work for good….

image

Anyway, I EASILY whipped up an envelope to fit this card in using the fabulous envelope punch board and you can see below how it folds flat to fit in the envelop.  The new tear tape is great for making envelopes.

So… There you go!!  Happy Birthday NANA KITTY!!!  We LOVE you!  You have been such an example of faithfulness, love, commitment and dedication to our family!  Wish we were there to help you celebrate!

Blessings

Standard

Ahhhh…. November. Thanksgiving.  One of my favorite holidays.  I like it because it doesn’t have all the hustle that surrounds Christmas.  And it gives us a moment to pause, and count our blessings…image

This stamp set came with the Gratitude for Days Kit from last year’s occasion’s mini catalog.  So again, it is retired…

I hope you have a chance to rest and enjoy this month before all the busyness.  I seem to be overwhelmed with busyness as of late, and need this little reminder to be thankful…

Check out what Anne and Cheryl have for you!

Christmas in October

Standard

Don’t adjust your computer settings.  You are INDEED seeing 2 blog posts in the same month.  It’s an October Miracle.

I wanted to share with you some items I made for my club groups this past month.  They wanted to get a head start on Christmas crafting, so our theme was, well… Christmas.  (In the craft world, it  is acceptable to start Christmas crafting before Halloween… just fyi.)

image

I just got these wonderful ornament framelits.  (Delicate Ornaments)  actually comes as a bundle with the stamps… called Embellished Ornaments bundle.  (I didn’t actually use the stamps here, but they are nice).

image

These pictures don’t do this justice.  But, I cut the ornaments out of the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.  And OH MY.  I hadn’t bought that paper till now, but it is GORGEOUS.  Makes me want to buy enough to wallpaper my house.  It’s beautifully sparkly, but subtle, as to not overdo everything.

This first pic (above) I decorated one of our Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags .(They’re awesome cause they are only $3.50 for 10.)  I love that they are plain…. they are just WAITING for something cute to go on them!

I used a bit of the Tip Top Taupe lace trim and silver sequin trim to complete the top of the ornament.  The peace is from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits,  I cut it out of silver foil.  LOVE the silver foil.  I’m very impressed with it because it’s more of a card stock and not paper.  So, it is sturdier than I expected it to be.

image

This is the same concept but applied to the Pillow Box.  I love this little thinlit.  It is PERFECT for little treats or a gift card.  A Christmas Crafting MUST-HAVE.  You can choose to make it with or without the window.  (I should have treats inside, but didn’t have anything at the time of the photograph…need to go shopping).  I textured the front with the ‘Softly Falling’ Textured Impressions Embossing Folder….

image

And here is a card with the same design… I did this to show how you can use one simple design and make it work for a variety of options.  The card stock I used on the card and the pillow box is the Tip Top Taupe.  The bow on the card and pillow box is the new silver twine.  We’ve been waiting for this twine.  The card picture is the best one to see the Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper, but it still isn’t that great… you will have to trust me on this… it is amazing.

Anyway, hope this inspires you as you start on your Christmas crafting!!

Boo To You!!

Standard

Hello October!!

This month is a fun little month.  This motley crew of little monsters is sure to make someone smile.  I love the ‘non-traditional’ colors to use with this group… makes it a little unexpected.

This darling little set, Freaky Friends, was in LAST year’s Fall Occasions catalog, so it is now retired (so sad).

A Hawaiian Fall….

Standard

September is HERE!!  That means school is in full swing and we are looking forward to fall.  Well, on Maui, fall isn’t fall like it is elsewhere, but it does mean a little cooler temperatures (hopefully!!).  Anyway, given my love for all things fall and the fact that Maui doesn’t really have your typical fall, I chose to stamp these little flowers in fall colors…to kind of meld the two!!image

They vague look like some of the tropical flowers (well, ok, not really…you REALLY have to use your imagination) and the Cajun Craze is the perfect fall color to be part of the mix.  Hope you are planning crisp evenings at football games and hot cider and hay rides and bonfires and cozy sweaters…  (those are all the things I LOVE about fall…)image

Go see what Anne and Cheryl have for you!!

August

Standard

Happy August!!

I love banners.  I love making them… I love stamping them… They are so festive.  So, for August, and the ‘title page’ to the calendar, I decided to make a little banner…  This uses the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (the ‘you made my day’ image) and Banner Blast (now retired, so sad…)…  But, these little banners are so fast and fun…

imageAnd, I love the Smokey Slate color with the pastels used on the banner.  Makes you think of calm, cool, and breezy in a month that could be very warm.  Helping you to have your own mini vacay… even if it is just for a moment in your imagination.

Happy July!!!

I know this isn’t a unique use of the “Work Of Art” stamp set, but I just had to make watermelon for July.  Watermelon seems to embody everything SUMMER.  So, I just had to do it.  imageIsn’t it refreshing??!!
