Morning session!

Standard

Wow.  Being here is an experience!  Lots of excitement and enthusiasm. I learned I am not as prolific of a stamper as I thought.  I pale in comparison…. but it’s not about comparing…

Anyway… wanted to share some pictures… this is what it looked likeeper whend we entered the contention center… all these ladies… waiting for the auditorium doors to open.  All swapping.  Anyone overhearing these conversations unfamiliar with this concept would think we are crazy (weeeeeelllll….)  all you here is … “wanna swap” or “you swapping”  and no other words. It’s funny.

And, I really likes this group. Teams (downlines) try to do something to make themselves recognizable to their other members… I liked this one in particular. I want a poster for my stamp room:

I have the WOW swap I am part of is today. Anne told me to sign up for this one because it is organized and has rules…. so yo uh make cometh g good and you are guaranteed to get it back… I’m a little nervous because the organizer must approve the card before I can participate.  Anyway, I made 120 of this:

And, it’s hard to see in the picture but that flower is a “closure” for the card. Nothing  fancy… the fronth is just cut shorter than the back and scalloped. Then the flower is glued down just on the exposed inside of the card thend the front tucks behind.  Hopefully this clarifies:

It’s fast, easy, and a way just o make something different.  With the exception of the enjoy word from the fabulous phrases stamp set, there is no stamping. Big shot embossing, punching… its an excellent way to use up scrap pieces of paper….  I will try to post more this evening… of the exciting wow swaps I get!!

Another Smooch

Standard

You may get sick of all the smooching around here… or maybe not.  This new Bright Blossoms set is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.  In order to figure out what I was going to do for the class Anne and I are offering (see yesterday’s post) I made several samples…  And, I really enjoy the bright colors and cute, simple stamps.  They are perfectly cheerful…will make ANYONE’S day.  Wouldn’t  you love getting this card?

This card also features the Summer Smooches DSP.  I used the Tasteful Trim die to cut the ric-rac out…  And, that is Daffodil Delight Seam Binding (I think Seam Binding is my favorite all the ribbons).  We needing a good yellow ribbon…  Anyway, these products are sneak peeks into the new catalog coming out June 1…  This is your chance to get your hands on a few things early (only during April)…and there are a couple of items (the brads and stencil) that WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE during April…meaning they are NOT in the new catalog…  I will have upcoming samples with them…

And, for you clubbers… This is one of the cards we will make for the APRIL clubs…. exciting isn’t it…

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, but no blue…

Standard

So, a co-worker asked me if I had any baby cards to welcome a baby girl…for another co-worker who just welcomed her new daughter…  I didn’t have anything on hand, so this is what I came up with…

You might be wondering what the title of this post has to do with this card.  Glad you asked:

Something Old:  The stamp set.  Sorry.  It’s called A Slice of Life.  Was  a hostess set last year.  we have tons of current baby stuff  (of which I do not own, yet..) that could easily be substituted.  Or any image for that matter.  Doesn’t have to be baby.

Something New:    I used the new diagonal plate on the Simply Scored to make the AWESOME envelope….

Something Borrowed:  The DSP.  The Blushing Bride color (and in this case it is the dsp the envelope and the strip on the card).  It is LIVING ON BORROWED TIME.  This color will be retired at the end of May.  So, if you want it you better get your hands on it!!

Something Blue:  It’s a baby GIRL card… sorry no blue…

Anyway, speaking of retiring…  My friend, Bronwyn, keeps wanting me to do BLOG candy.  Well, not sure exactly how to do that, but this is my idea:  The retiring list will be posted on SU on April 15.  So, I propose a little contest….  Submit to me (by posting a comment to this post) 3 names of stamp sets you think will be retiring.  For every correct guess you have, your name will go into a drawing.  I will pull a name from all the ‘correctly identified’ entries and the winner will get a special prize.  Make sure you have have posted your comments by 5pm (HST) and I will choose and notify a winner by SUNDAY…

Good Luck…
