Blessings

Standard

Ahhhh…. November. Thanksgiving.  One of my favorite holidays.  I like it because it doesn’t have all the hustle that surrounds Christmas.  And it gives us a moment to pause, and count our blessings…image

This stamp set came with the Gratitude for Days Kit from last year’s occasion’s mini catalog.  So again, it is retired…

I hope you have a chance to rest and enjoy this month before all the busyness.  I seem to be overwhelmed with busyness as of late, and need this little reminder to be thankful…

A Hawaiian Fall….

Standard

September is HERE!!  That means school is in full swing and we are looking forward to fall.  Well, on Maui, fall isn’t fall like it is elsewhere, but it does mean a little cooler temperatures (hopefully!!).  Anyway, given my love for all things fall and the fact that Maui doesn’t really have your typical fall, I chose to stamp these little flowers in fall colors…to kind of meld the two!!image

They vague look like some of the tropical flowers (well, ok, not really…you REALLY have to use your imagination) and the Cajun Craze is the perfect fall color to be part of the mix.  Hope you are planning crisp evenings at football games and hot cider and hay rides and bonfires and cozy sweaters…  (those are all the things I LOVE about fall…)image

August

Happy August!!

I love banners.  I love making them… I love stamping them… They are so festive.  So, for August, and the ‘title page’ to the calendar, I decided to make a little banner…  This uses the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (the ‘you made my day’ image) and Banner Blast (now retired, so sad…)…  But, these little banners are so fast and fun…

imageAnd, I love the Smokey Slate color with the pastels used on the banner.  Makes you think of calm, cool, and breezy in a month that could be very warm.  Helping you to have your own mini vacay… even if it is just for a moment in your imagination.

Happy July!!!

I know this isn’t a unique use of the “Work Of Art” stamp set, but I just had to make watermelon for July.  Watermelon seems to embody everything SUMMER.  So, I just had to do it.  imageIsn’t it refreshing??!!

Flowers in June

Standard

June is perfect for cheery flowers! And this is a supper cute little flower patch!!  (That’s actually the name of the stamp set!!  Flower Patch!)  I always have grand visions of making cute little gardens in the summer… but I never do it… at least in an actual garden.  I much prefer to garden on paper.  These flowers never die.

I love these flowers… they’re so easy to make a cheerful collage on calendars or cards.  Enjoy!

O May, O May

Standard

The Merry Month Of May…

To a school teacher, this month is full of anticipation of lazy summer days full of relaxation. However, the actual month itself is CRAZY BUSY.  Especially a school teacher of high school seniors.  So, in efforts to help maintain calm, and remind me of the lazy summer days, I chose this serene flower set…  It’s perfect for Mother’s Day too!!

image

This set is called “Bloom With Hope” and it’s a hostess set for the 2014-2015 Stampin’ Up! catalog.  Which, if you LOVE the set, you only have a month left to host a party and get it before it is gone forever….

Well, happy May to you and may you also have dreams of lazy summer days ahead…

I know pink and hearts are a little cliche for Valentine’s but I couldn’t resist.  I love this little rain cloud.  It’s so sweet…

I used a hostess stamp set from the 2014-14 Idea Book and Catalog called Hello Love.  It’s a fun little set.  Has lots of various images to do different things.  Spoiler Alert:  You will see this set again in the calendar series…  🙂

Happy New Year!! Happy New Blog!

Standard
Happy New Year!! Happy New Blog!

Well.  Kind of.  Yes, this is Card-Ed.com  But, now it is Hanniejoy&Co.  I decided to change the name because 1. I was getting tired of card-ed.com cause it just seemed too limiting  2.  I chose card-ed cause I couldn’t think of any thing better at the time and 3.  I am ready for something fresh and new!

But, now, we have hanniejoy.  (she’s twin B of the pair, but, hanniejoyandsqueaks seemed too long, and then I didn’t want Isaac to feel bad, so we just decided to stick with the girl…) that way, the boys have each other.  And, Hannie is going to rule the planet at some point, so we might as well start things off right.  And, having a name like hanniejoy&co allows me to be able to explore more of the crafting realm besides just stamping.  Which I did anyway, but I always felt it didn’t make sense with my blog name.  So, you can still get here by going to http://www.card-ed.com OR by hanniejoyandco.com.

I digress…

Happy 2015!!

I’m excited to show you this year’s Easel Calendar!  I always have so much fun making these…  and we will do the same thing as we did last year… publish on the first of every month.  And, I will include links to Anne  and Cheryl so you can see what they are doing with their calendars as well!

Without further delay…Here is JANUARY!

wpid-20141230_185921.jpg

I had so much fun with this one.  It is my first real attempt at using the blendabilities markers.  I’ve decided I love them.  (These are copic markers for those of you not accustomed to SU lingo).  This is the cherry cobbler set.  I like them because you can blend the colors and shade.   The flower is the ‘Blended Bloom’ flower  It’s a single image stamp set (only one stamp) but lots of fun to color…

I have a very few of these calendars left if you would like one. They are $10 for the refill and $15 for the calendar and easel (plus shipping if you are not on Maui) Or, if you would like the template to make your own, I have the PDF for $5.  Email me if you are interested in either…

And, let me know what you think of the new look!

Endless Merry Wishes

Standard

Wow.  It’s been a full 12 months.  Time sure flies!!  This month features my absolute favorite stamp set that was released last year… Endless Wishes.  WHICH, I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE, IS AVAILABLE THIS YEAR AS WELL!!

It’s such an easy set to use!  and, even though the images are snowflakes, I’m learning you don’t have to do them in traditional snowflake colors.  Which is fortunate, cause it does seem strange doing snowflakes when the outside temperature is a frigid 80.

The other thing I like about this stamp set is the choice of words that come with it.  There are many greeting type words that come in a mix of the cursive and typewritten fonts.  They work VERY well on tags or other small items–independently of the snowflakes.  So, it is a great Christmas Set investment.  Now, if you know me, you know that I typically sell all my retired sets.  My stampin’ space just doesn’t allow for me to keep every stamp set that I’ve ever had.  But, I can honestly say, this is one set I will probably hang on to.  Yes.  I like it THAT much.

December means it’s that time to start thinking about next year… and a new calendar!  So… stay tuned to the blog… I will announce when I will have my annual Easel Calendar Class so you can come and make your own set of beautiful calendar pages…  AND, we will feature them again on the first of every month next year as well!!  Thanks for checking in!!
